Portland's best-kept secret, or just a secret?

The Lounge feels like a Portland institution, but doesn't quite live up to its potential. It's a place with a lot of heart, but also a lot of rough edges. If you're a fan of dive bars and can look past the cleanliness issues, you'll find a decent spot to grab a drink and some company.

How this is scored
54/100

Disappointing luxury aspirations.

The Lounge's property is its biggest letdown. With a score of 53.7, it's clear that the owners are trying to go for a high-end vibe, but the lack of luxury amenities and parking options makes it feel like a misfire. If you're looking for a swanky spot to take a date, keep looking.

Decent door service, but cleanliness is lacking.

The Lounge's service is a mixed bag. On the one hand, the door service is top-notch, and the staff is generally friendly and respectful. On the other hand, the cleanliness of the club is a major concern, and the bar service can be slow. If you're looking for a place to grab a drink and some company, you'll find it here, but don't expect too much in terms of amenities.

Don't come for the food, come for the performers.

The Lounge's food is, quite frankly, a non-starter. With food quality and prices both scoring a paltry 1 out of 10, it's clear that the kitchen is not a priority here. If you're looking for a spot to grab a bite to eat, keep looking. However, if you're willing to overlook the subpar grub, the performers on stage are well worth the visit.

Talented dancers with questionable professionalism.

The Lounge's performers are the real stars of the show. With a score of 6 out of 10 for talent quality and appearance style, it's clear that the club is investing in its dancers. However, professionalism is a major concern, with a score of 1 out of 10 making it clear that some of the performers are more interested in getting attention than providing a quality show. If you're a fan of exotic dancers and don't mind a little attitude, you'll find it here, but be prepared for some rough edges.

Bachelors Get Down We rented out a VIP room for my buddy's bachelor party and it was a blast. $100 for a private dance is a steal, especially considering the quality of the dancers. The private booths were a great touch, too.
70/100 SW score
Mixed Bag I've been going to The Lounge for years and it's still got some of its charm. The dancers are always friendly and the drinks are cheap, but the parking situation is a real pain and the stages need some TLC.
40/100 SW score
Not Impressed I stopped by The Lounge on a whim, thinking I'd get a more upscale experience than I did. The dive bar feel was overwhelming and the private dances felt way overpriced ($40 for one song is highway robbery). Maybe it's just me, but I won't be back.
